Mario Martinez, Diamond Ranch: The Panthers quarterback went up against a San Dimas defense that hadn’t allowed more than a touchdown to any opponent this season, and he led his team to victory in the Valle Vista League championship game. Martinez threw for 186 yards and tossed two touchdown passes in a 37-20 victory, including a go-ahead 14-yard TD pass to Jose Saldana in the third quarter.

Colton Fitzgerald, Saugus: Fitzgerald led Saugus to its first outright Foothill League title since 2008 with three touchdown passes in the Centurions’ 21-7 win over Valencia, the 11-time reigning league champions. The senior quarterback led two scoring drives in the fourth quarter, including the final score with five minutes left to put the game away. Fitzgerald finished the game with 170 yards passing on 17 of 25 passing.

Jakob Galloway, Banning: Galloway turned in a full game’s work in the first half of Friday’s game with Carson. The junior rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the Pilots’ 20-10 win. In two games, Galloway has scored seven rushing touchdowns.

Nate Frazier, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy: Frazier rushed 12 times for 131 yards and two TDs, caught three passes for 62 yards and a TD, returned a kickoff 60 yards for a TD, had a sack and broke up six passes in the Warriors’ 45-44 Camino Real League victory over Cantwell-Sacred Heart on Friday. He had a total of four touchdowns and 253 all-purpose yards.

Angel Vega, Santa Ana: He produced 400 yards of total offense in the Saints’ 36-34 win over Orange. Vega passed for 267 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown. Saints coach Charlie TeGantvoort said Vega’s chief asset is leadership. “He makes everyone around him believe,” TeGantvoort said. “He’s that guy in the huddle who says, ‘We can do this. Fourth-and-18? No problem. Let’s just run another play.” The win gave Santa Ana the Orange Coast League championship.

Hunter Roddy, Chaparral: Roddy rushed for 405 yards and four touchdowns on 45 carries and also added five two-point conversions as the Pumas defeated Murrieta Valley 52-41 to secure a second-place finish in the Southwestern League. Roddy broke school records for carries and rushing yards for the second consecutive season. His previous bests were 352 yards on 40 carries against Great Oak last season. Roddy rushed for 710 yards and 11 touchdowns in three games this season.
