Country music star Luke Bryan has announced new dates for shows in Los Angeles and Devore that were previously postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and has added new shows in Irvine and San Diego as part of a planned 2021 tour.
Bryan’s “Proud to Be Right Here” tour will arrive at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in San Diego Sept. 23, Staples Center in Los Angeles Oct. 8, Five Point Amphitheatre in Irvine Oct. 14 and Glen Helen Amphitheater in Devore Oct. 16.
Tickets for the new concert dates go on sale to the public beginning 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, via lukebryan.com and members of Bryan’s fan club, the Nut House, will be able to purchase them early on Tuesday, April 27. Tickets that were previously purchased for the shows in Los Angeles and Devore will be honored on the new dates.
Bryan, whose hits include “Rain Is a Good Thing,” “All My Friends Say, “Play It Again,” “Down To One” and “That’s My Kind Of Night,” is a hot commodity in country music. He ended 2020 as a Billboard’s Top Country Artist of the 2010s with 11 number one hits on the Hot Country Songs chart and has been crowned the CMT Artist of the Year six times. He was recently named the 2021 ACM Entertainer of the Year. Bryan is also a judge on the revival of “American Idol” on ABC alongside Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, but was sidelined recently after testing positive for COVID-19.
Bryan was originally supposed to perform in Southern California last year, but like many artists postponed his tour due the pandemic.
Coronavirus precautions were not announced with the new concert dates, but California recently allowed out-of-state visitors to attend concerts. The state’s restrictions on indoor and outdoor events are expected to ease on June 15 and concerts will be allowed to resume at full capacity.
State health officials said in an email that “common-sense health measures” including masking would still be in effect across California and that “testing or vaccination verification requirements will remain in relevant settings,” but did not elaborate on whether or not large concerts would require testing or proof of vaccination.
Staples Center, which is one of the venues that will host Bryan, has a list of safety precautions listed on its website, including requiring guests to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event, asking guests to have their ticket to the event on their mobile device, requiring guests over the age of 2 to wear a face mask and encouraging guests to keep a distance of at least 6 feet from others who are not in their household.
