For the second day in a row, the OC Health Care Agency reported no new deaths from the coronavirus. As of Wednesday, Feb. 24, the reported number of people in the county who have died from the virus remains at 3,848.
The data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates or gathered through the course of case investigations and can take weeks to process.
The county reported 325 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, raising the total number of COVID-19 cases to 245,460.
The county also reported 515 patients in local hospitals, down 24 since the previous report. There were 151 patients listed in intensive care units on Wednesday.
The hospital patient totals have fallen to about the same level as where they were at the end of November.
The California Department of Public Health vaccines dashboard shows that 644,816 vaccines doses have been distributed in Orange County as of Feb. 24.
An estimated 4,461 cases of the virus have been recorded in Orange County in the last 14 days. The 14-day total was 12,745 cases two weeks ago, a decline of 65%
The county update said 2,991,605 tests have been given for the coronavirus since testing began locally, with at least 10,938 new tests since the previous report.
It is estimated 227,622 people have recovered from the virus as of Wednesday. The count of people who have recovered is based on the prior 28-day cumulative case count.
Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize.
